Cook it fresh. Serve it well. Nothing more.

Tantunio opened its doors in 2022 in the Steentilstraat. Ali and Mehmet brought the cuisine of Turkey's southern coast to Groningen — not as a concept, but simply: the way it should be. Fresh meat, house spices, bread from the oven.

We cook for students, families, pre- or post-theatre guests, and for anyone who wants something a little different from yet another pizzeria. Small team, busy kitchen, always time for a chat.

How do I reserve a table?

Via tantunio.nl/en/reserve/. Choose the number of guests, date and time in three steps and fill in your details. You'll receive an instant confirmation by email.

Is the food halal?

Yes, all our meat is halal certified. For vegetarian and vegan guests we have an extensive menu including falafel, vegan kumpir, sebze kizartma and imam bayaldi.

Can I order or pick up?

Absolutely. Order via Thuisbezorgd or Uber Eats. Pick up directly at Steentilstraat 36.

Until what time is the kitchen open?

We are open every day from 11:00 to 22:00. Turkish breakfast is served until 15:00. The kitchen closes shortly before closing time; call us if in doubt.

How many people can come?

We have tables for two to eight people. For larger groups or catering email reserveringen@tantunio.nl and we'll see what works.

Where can I park?

The Steentilstraat is right in the city centre, walking distance from the Grote Markt and Forum. Car parks Damsterdiep and Centrum are nearby. Bikes can be parked right outside.
